Recovery of data involves salvaging data from failed, corrupted, damaged or inaccessible storage media. It is often salvaged from storage devices, such as external or internal hard disk, storage tapes, DVDs, CDs, Raid, USB flash drive, Solid State Drives (SSD) and other electronics. Efforts of recovery are required as a result of physical damage to storage devices or logical damage to file systems that prevent them from getting mounted by the operating system.
